Inclement Weather Policy:The pool's closing policy is:
* When thunder is heard, the pool and deck are cleared and the pool is closed for 30 minutes after the last occurrence of thunder.
* When lightning occurs, the pool and deck are cleared and the pool is closed for 45 minutes after the last occurrence of lightning.
Summer storms have a tendency to be localized and last minute. Consequently, giving advanced notice of a postponement or cancellation of practices or meets is difficult. Current technical limitations prevent us from sending out emails or updating the swim team website from the AKC pool.
The inclement weather policy (subject to the general pool policy) for the swim team is:
* Practices: The practice will proceed as scheduled. Attendance is a judgment call on your part. Your swimmer(s) will not be penalized for missing a practice.
* Swim Meets: The swim meet will proceed as scheduled. There are ramifications to the whole team for not attending a meet at the last minute. We will post a message on the swim team web page as soon as we are able. If we have enough advanced notice, we will make every attempt to notify swim team members via email regarding changes due to inclement weather.
